Annual Health Fair 2009
Swansea People First's Annual Health Fair 2009 "Food, Fitness and Fun!" is nearly here!
The event will be held on Friday July 3rd 2009 at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea

Snakes and Ladders games
Swansea People First are now using our new educational 'Snakes and Ladders' games in our sessions in Swansea. The interactive games have been very popular in promoting healthy messages on both eating and exercise whilst also being fun.
The boards have been funded by Heart Research UK

Alcohol Awareness Programme
Swansea People First have started their
'Alcohol Awareness' Programme in conjunction with the Community Support Team and WGCADA (West Glamorgan Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse) today Friday 1st May 2009.
The programme hopes to highlight the problem of alcohol abuse in adults with learning disabilities in Swansea and to present clear information to sufferers in an accessible way.
Swansea People First has designed
'Pictures without Words' resources for the course and are developing a new 'Snakes and Ladders' board game which has been used to highlight healthy eating and exercise to do the same with Alcohol Abuse. Watch this space for details.

Merthyr People First Visit!
On April 23rd we had the pleasure of a visit from our friends at Merthyr People First who came down to our office in West Cross to meet us for a chat, a bite to eat and to share ideas about our projects.
We all had a great time and would like to thank Pat and the gang for making the trip and we hope to see you all soon.

Trip to see the Ospreys play
Several of Swansea People First's members went to see the Ospreys rugby team play Edinburgh at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 25th April. Despite narrowly losing by 2 points, the group all had a fantastic time. More details and pictures to follow very soon
